What does the electronic speed control of the engine do?Eduarda Mota
The electronic speed control is an element that optimizes the work of the generator and makes it more competent, because it automatically manages the engine speed when there are more demanding loads.
Diesel engines, especially those with lower power, are generally mechanically regulated, which means the engine speed adjustment is done mechanically. However, when working with more demanding loads, electronic control is the best solution, since the speed adjustment is done electrically, and this considerably reduces the engine's response time when there are speed variations.
This equipment is necessary when working with heavier loads or with operating modes that require an agile response, such as:
- parallel operation between generators,
- parallel operation between generator and the grid
- demanding starting powers (like the ones of pumps and electric motors).
