Grupel Energy in the new Sporting Clube de Portugal ArenaCarlos Martins
Grupel's mission is to continuously enhance its customers. In this sense, it is with great pride that it is present in one of the great national projects for the high-level sports development in Portugal, as is the new João Rocha Arena of Sporting Clube de Portugal.
This sports venue is characterized by polyvalence and aims to encourage sports and training of young sports in the various modalities that the arena provides support. Grupel was selected through the engineering company Flosel to provide the generators that will serve the energy support needs in this sports hall.
- Construction cost: 10M€
- Capacity: 3000 seats
- Maximum dimensions of the arena: 48x26m
- Construction Area: 10.000m²
- Available sports: Futsal, Basketball, Volleyball, Handball and Roller Hockey
Besides being designed to host the competitions of these sports in which Sporting Clube de Portugal participates, the arena also has an amphitheater, two press rooms and a restaurant area. It also includes an expansion of the Green Store and a technological and interactive extension of the Sporting World Museum.
To ensure that sporting events and all its surrounding activities in this venue can always proceed as efficiently as possible, two generators of Grupel's IndustrialRange have been implemented. These models are designed to operate normally as primary or emergency power source in installations where there is no electrical power or for some momentary eventuality the main power is not available.
For this project at the João Rocha Arena of Sporting Clube de Portugal, Grupel installed three-phase generators, with 220kVA and 275kVA powers, which will operate in emergency mode.
The generators were equipped with:
- Doosan engine, model P086TI and model P126TI-II
- Stamford alternator, model UCI274H and model UCDI274K
- Soundproof canopy Grupel 3800II model
This is another project that Grupel is proud to support in the growth of the high-performance sports and in the development of sports in Portugal. We thus continued to strengthen our leadership in the diesel generator market in Portugal.
