With almost half a century of experience in the conception, production, and distribution of generator sets, we take energy to the entire world.
Grupel started its activity, in 1976, producing and selling a wide range of power generators (open or soundproofed), with powers from 2 to 3500kVA, equipped with the best quality components from our own brand as well as other internationally renowned companies.
We believe that access to power can enhance the development of regions. We know, however, that this supply is not uniform worldwide and that the needs to ensure its supply are distinct from region to region.
For this reason, our team works daily to create tailor-made solutions, according to each geographical reality and application objective, be it residential to operate only in case of power supply failure or to operate continuously in power plants, business or industrial units.
To meet this objective, we have more than 24,000m2 dedicated to the manufacture of generator sets, being the largest production unit of this type of equipment in Portugal. We are a renowned brand in the sector, and we work incessantly for the satisfaction of our customers. In 2021, we were distinguished by Portuguese consumers with the Five Stars Award (Prémio Cinco Estrelas), for the fitth consecutive year.
But it is not only in Portugal that we are recognized. Currently, about 80% of the company’s turnover is due to our international presence, in more than 70 countries. With our customers and partners, we take our Energy further and further.

Grupel started its operations, in 1976, as a small company. Today, it has become the largest production unit of generator sets, in Portugal, operating in the 5 continents with more than 50 distributors.
With a well-defined focus on the customer, we always look to exceed their expectations. Therefore, we challenge ourselves daily so that we can achieve more and more, reinforcing our leader position, year after year.
We want to keep growing with the support and partnership of all stakeholders, customers, employees, suppliers, financial institutions, auditors and other institutions. Only this can we keep on our path to success, sustainable growth and creating value with high financial solidity.

Grupel counts with a specialized sales team in Portugal, Spain and France, as well as sales representatives in Dubai and China, which enables us to answer the needs of each region.
We also have a network of over 50 highly specialized distributors, particularly in Latin America, Africa and the Middle East.
This way, Grupel ensures greater proximity to the client and a presence on a global scale.
Entrance of a new dynamic and experienced team and the adoption of new strategies for international markets.
With the group corporate restructuring, Omnisantos, SGPS, SA became the totalitarian shareholder where Eng. Marco Santos assumes the CEO role. In the same date, an injection of share capital was made, increasing from € 498,800 to € 1,080,000 in order to meet the company’s investment needs, and strengthening its capital structure. At the same time, the export market sales represented more than 50% of the company’s total turnover.
Grupel is in permanent adaptation to the constant changes and demands of the market.
