Food Industry

With the experience of Grupel and the engineering department in Big Projects, Grupel developed a special project to support a company in the food sector in Kenya.

Grupel was already present in the Kenyan market through the distributor Power Management Services Ltd. (PMS), an important partnership that allowed to develop a special project for one of the biggest companies in Kenya and in the food industry. This company was planning to open a new milling unit, and needed to fulfill its needs regarding the power source that would have to be reliable and continuous. Grupel provided support to the site team, designing a solution capable of meeting this need and adapting the products to the load demand. This demand happens mainly at the beginning of the milling process, even with a soft start of load start-up.

In this project, it was necessary to use a product from the Heavy Range, since this company needed continuous power to feed a 2.7MW load. For this purpose, Grupel supplied two 1350kVA standby generators to perform this operation, with Perkins engine, model 4012-46TWG2A; Leroy Somer alternator, model LSA 50.2 M6, and Deepsea 8610 controller for a parallel system.
