PROJECT DESCRIPTION
In 2023, one of the projects developed and supplied by Grupel served the Los Vados WWTP in Granada, Spain.
Consisting of 3 generator sets of 500, 725 and 1100kVA, the project operates on standby, coming into operation in the event of a grid failure, guaranteeing power to different parts of the facility.

The generators for the Los Vados WWTP have a Grupel engine and alternator and are equipped with a DeepSea controller, remote start and pumped preheating resistors.
At the beginning of 2023, the Los Vados WWTP underwent expansion works, the investment of which amounted to around 28 million euros and which included increasing the plant's capacity threefold - around 72,000 m3/day.
In this way, the renovated infrastructure will be able to respond to the population and structural growth of Granada and its metropolitan area, serving 21 municipalities and, consequently, around half a million inhabitants, after bringing together, for processing and treatment, domestic and industrial wastewater from a large part of the region.
In the last 20 years, water consumption has doubled worldwide, making infrastructures such as wastewater treatment plants very important.
That's why Grupel has developed solutions to support these types of facilities all over the world, so that they work properly, ensuring the continuity of all processes and thus avoiding the occurrence of floods and contaminated discharges that would lead to incalculable environmental and financial damage.
