Grupel’s Special Projects are one of the brand’s most distinguishing features, since this range of products is made up of high power and performance generator sets, and it is a direct result of the engineering work of the company’s team. Grupel’s Special Projects are energy solutions of great flexibility and versatility, fully adaptable to the requirements of customers in all sectors and to the standards in force in different geographies around the world.

José Souto, Grupel’s Special Projects Director, looks to the future with optimism, ensuring the continuous development, adjustment and modernization of these types of solutions so that they can be optimized and continue to support numerous activities from agriculture to construction and defense.

What are your expectations for the growth of Grupel’s Special Projects in the coming years?

The success of Special Projects generally depends on market demand, the company’s ability to offer customized solutions that meet customer needs, and the company’s ability to maintain a highly qualified team that is up-to-date with the latest technologies.

In addition, Grupel has competitive advantages over other companies in the sector, such as the quality of its products, the efficiency of its production and its ability to adapt quickly to market changes and customer needs.

How can Special Projects support the development of other business sectors?

By offering customized and reliable solutions to meet the specific energy needs of its customers, Grupel can help increase efficiency and productivity in a wide range of sectors.

Over the years, we have focused on customizing these types of power solutions, adapting them to critical sectors such as hospitals, banks, industries and data centers. We have installed temporary generators to power factories, construction equipment and events of all kinds. We have designed customized equipment to power irrigation systems, water pumps and others. And We have also concieved products such as mobile and airborne units that facilitate rapid deployment in adverse locations without power and under the harshest operating conditions.

In addition, Grupel is also working on the generation of renewable energy for industries and others, with the development of hybrid systems of low-emission generators with solar panels, wind turbines and BESS battery banks. This not only helps to reduce the carbon footprint of industries, but can also reduce their energy costs in the medium and long term.

How does Grupel intend to address the energy transition in this segment?

The company is committed to making its operations more sustainable, using advanced technologies and working to promote energy efficiency with customers and partners.

We will continue to offer cogeneration solutions, which use the heat produced during electricity generation to heat buildings and other industrial processes, thereby reducing fossil fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.

We also seek to develop solutions that ensure energy efficiency throughout the life cycle of projects, as exemplified by Rental StageV generators.

In addition, we are increasingly investing in the use of cleaner fuels, such as biofuels and natural gas, which emit fewer polluting gases.

What are the main challenges currently facing this special projects business area?

There are several challenges. Meeting clients’ customized demands requires a great deal of effort to ensure that projects are executed efficiently and meet clients’ expectations.

We must also keep up with technololgy to provide state-of-the-art solutions that are relevant and competitive, in addition to following applicable standards and regulations. Digitization and the recent growth of AI will be challenges in the immediate future that also affect our area.

Special projects require speed of response and adaptability, so they often have tight deadlines that must be met.

How does Grupel respond to these challenges?

Grupel seeks to provide a differentiated response to these challenges through various initiatives, such as investment in cutting-edge technology, a focus on project management to meet deadlines and budgets, and a strong commitment to quality and excellence in the execution of special projects.

In addition, there are three other factors that distinguish us: flexibility, experience, and close communication with clients. Grupel has a culture of adaptation that allows us to respond quickly to market changes and to the diverse requirements of a project or different clients. In addition, we have a team with extensive technical experience and market knowledge, which maintains open and constant communication with customers, offering technical support and follow-up from the planning phase to the execution of the project.
