PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Grupel Energy is at the service of IKEA, in Alfragide, Portugal, as we have recently supplied a 1485kVA generator set to support the facilities of the well-known furniture store.

The equipment is composed by a Baudouin 12M33G1500/5 engine and a Leroy Somer LSA502L7 alternator and was designed to operate in standby mode, starting up in case of a grid failure and taking the load from the installation to provide the necessary energy.

More details

In this way, the store that has 3 floors, including the restaurant area, will have an uninterrupted power supply, even in the event of a grid breakdown, and all processes that depend on electricity will be safeguarded.

The retail sector currently represents a preponderant part of countries' economies, namely the Portuguese one. Increasingly, large businesses and retailers have growing energy consumption, and a simple failure or instability in the power grid supply can cause huge financial damage and jeopardize the safety of those who frequent these spaces.

To meet these needs, this type of facilities resorts to the use of power generators that are mostly prepared to be activated in case of emergency and to respond temporarily, ensuring the operation of these units until the regular power grid is restored.
