PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Grupel carried out the replacement of a defective generator, at the Ilha do Farol, Faro.

The new 447kVA generator, with Baudouin engine and Grupel alternator, operates in standby mode, powering the island, in case of failure of the regular power grid.

Grupel’s Energy is a reliable source, capable of supporting various applications, including important and demanding infrastructures. This generator that supports Ilha do Farol is versatile, robust, and marinized, to suit the characteristics of the place where it operates.

More details

In the middle of the protected area of Ria Formosa, Ilha do Farol has an extensive sandy beach and support structures for bathing season, as well as the lighthouse of Cape Stª Maria, which gives it its name.

To get there, there are boat connections, with a duration of approximately 40 minutes. And given this somewhat remote nature, it is important that, in case of a grid failure, there is a back-up system that ensures the energy supply of the island's infrastructures while the breakdown or failure is being repaired.

Standby generators are ideal solutions for this type of situation, since they come into action, manually and/or automatically, when an electrical failure occurs.
